Morning light flecks and floods
the house. A thought breaks out.
A shower sprays.
It runs away.
Breakfast cereal box
as, watching the clock,
there is an idea to toss
and then off.
Train time to jot notes of all sorts.
Hesitation, as a taut-line sought.
Blocks dissipate.
First thoughts are rarely fraught.
Work, things get hairy;
best to think contrary,
ideas simple and whimsical.
Everything is material-preparatory.
The 24/7 poet within
realises surprises.
In the mood, no stress,
always something interesting to express.
